Biographical

Mr. Weisman has specialized in commercial litigation for over 52 years, particularly in the areas of partnership, shareholder real estate and banking disputes, has prepared materials for and lectured in numerous continuing legal education programs, has represented shareholders, partners,borrowers, lenders, buyers and sellers, has testified as an expert witness on various aspects of banking, lending, corporate/partnership and real estate practices, as well as in profession negligence matters.

Mr. Weisman has an active practice as a court appointed special master, arbitrator, mediator, case evaluator, and facilitator in commercial disputes. Mr. Weisman has been named a Michigan Top Lawyer by Business Magazine each year since 2009 and a Michigan Super Lawyer by Michigan Super Lawyers each year since 2007.  Mr. Weisman served as the   Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Michigan and a Member of Its Council for 6 years. DISPUTE RESOLUTION MAGAZINE volume 19 , number 3 , Spring 2013, published by the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution "Med-Arb: The Best of Both Worlds"  as well as numerous other publications,  and is an active ADR trainer and speaker.

Education

Mr.Weisman received his education at Ohio Wesleyan University (B.A. Cum Laude in 1967); University of Michigan (J.D. in 1970).

Rates Information

$400/ hour including travel time and any out of pocket expenses and I reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee, not to exceed 1/2 of the scheduled  arbitration hearing dates or hours of mediation scheduled,  if any hearing or mediation is cancelled within 5 business days of the scheduled hearing or mediation . I charge a minimum fee of $2000 for any mediation day and a fixed fee of $4000/day for each day of arbitration hearings.
